Dr. Habtamu Alemu Shewa was born and raised in the Ashawa neighborhood of Dire Dawa, and currently resides in Goro neighborhood. As a child, he went house to house, neighborhood to neighborhood, helping friends understand difficult subjects. This memory still fills his heart today β€” teaching and helping people is always his greatest joy.

Now completing his MPH at Dire Dawa University.

Professional Career

After graduating, immediately returned to his beloved Dire Dawa. Served at Sabian Hospital as a general practitioner, now practicing at Dilchora Hospital β€” treating all patients without discrimination, with compassion and dedication. During university, founded a student association for educational quality and served as student representative and coordinator, earning official appreciation certificates. He also actively participates in and organizes various charitable activities.

Why I'm Running

Dr. Habtamu entered the race for one reason: to be the voice of the people and his city. He wants every citizen β€” regardless of ethnicity, color, religion, or clan β€” to benefit equally, democracy to be strengthened, health institutions improved, and youth voices to be heard. For this, he stands as a fully independent candidate.
